Get a load of PDF MI files on a tablet as more often than not you wont have MI's available.

That's what I did as soon as I was qualified, both oil and gas. Helps no end, especially where I live as Internet connections are so sporadic around here.
I use a pdf reader called iAnnotate and you can highlight parts of the MI for ease of reading as well as adding bookmarks to different sections. It probably saves me a couple of hours a week.

It took about 30 seconds before I could open it on here just. Sorry il try a different format.

This forum isn't that mobile friendly is it?
I can't view the image really so can't make a judgement but what I could see looked OK.

Update

Got to a job today and found that the 6 year old boiler was only hanging on one part of the bracket. Called the gaffer who then told me to just note it down and he'll get someone out to drain down and rehang! What would you lot do in those circumstances? It's seems like the cp12 being issued is the most important thing

If it's that bad/unstable it should be rectified immediately (by the time you make it safe, you're halfway to rehanging it properly)
If it fell off after you left and you deemed it safe, it would be you in the shyte not your gaffer

Id never do any of these 8 - 10 jobs a day lark its a joke saying that gassafe take a back seat half the time with the council in my experience.

I took a similar job last year with a local firm here in Devon, on the books, 30k with new van, pension, health care and usual benefits. Started off just servicing and now mainly breakdowns with a few services thrown in between. 6-8 jobs a day, I really enjoy it. Only take on services and breakdowns now on a Saturday to top up the dosh. Lot less stress than the old days
