Hi,

I've just replaced my toilet cistern with a 'Fluidmaster' compact cistern and all seems to be working well.

I'm not sure though if I should have a flow restrictor installed and exactly where it goes, presumably in the inlet to the Torbeck valve?

The cistern is filled from the Mains and although I don't have any numbers I think our pressure is pretty good.

I've attached a picture of what I guess are the flow restrictors supplied in the box. The blue one is labelled LP and the white one HP.

Any advice gratefully received!

Many thanks,

Paul H

If you can't stop an open tap with your finger. You have high pressure.

As a rule of thumb! :thinking2:

Love chalked pressure test lol.

You would have to use a pressure test gauge ( not expensive but we have them )to check your pressure to be 100%

Without getting my pressure gauges ans flow cups out. I can stop up to about 1.8 bar. If it's over that, the room gets a spay!

The white one for High pressure is normally fitted to mains fed supply and blue for low pressure normally gravity supply I.e from a tank .....but if you live at the bottom of a high rise block your cold supply although gravity could be from a communal tank on the roof therefore increasing the pressure ......regards Turnpin😀;
