I have a Glowworm Ultracom 30Cxi and this is only its third winter. When I have come to turn the heating on for the first time this year the little flames appear on the display, then after a few seconds go back to nothing.

I have checked the error log and it has several entries for "F22". I have refilled the system from the filling loop to 1.5bar and bled the radiators and filled it again. Still won't light the heating up for more than a few seconds.

I have cycled the boiler on and off and reset it. The hot water is spot on and has been in use continuously all year.

Can anyone help me please? Thank you. Much appreciated.

sounds like the diverter valve could be stuck. hence why it shuts off so quick as it's only heating the loop inside the boiler. I suggest you call an engineer out to correctly diagnose the fault.

I think the diverter valve sounds like a good possibility. Could have ceased up since Feb??? An engineer? Sounds expensive! How can this happen when it's only been in three years?

Is there not a Fonzy style "tap" I can give it in the right place to knock it loose? 🙂

Sounds expensive

I think that means we need to stop giving you ideas

Btw it will prob cost you more in parts than what we can supply and fit them for

BUT good luck in not blowing yourself up or killing people from co poisoning

Thanks for all the (cynical) replies.

Engineer out. Replaced divertor valve, replaced pump. No fix!

Answer: slow leak in the hot water system - it was taking priority over the heating as it detected a demand for hot water. All those who read this... hope this helps someone else with these symptoms.

Poor old Glowworm getting stick for being broken after 3 years - more like my house is broken. Not Glowworm.

Who knows! I've only got 3 taps and then isolation valve which leads to the washing machine. I turned the latter off for good measure, but the engineer turned the hot water part of the system down to below 50 degrees, which apparently stops it taking over the demand from the heating if there is a trickle.

One day I'll work out what caused it, but not today.
