Hi all

First post here!

I am after a syphon for a trough in a pub toilets. Its slightly different to any other syphon I've previously encountered. The trough is a cistern to a block of three cubicles, and has one supply ball valve. The syphons all have some kind of air admittance to allow the syphon to shut off before the tank is drained completely, thus allowing the remaining two cubicles to be flushed if need be. I am after replacement syphons and I'm struggling to identify and get hold of them...

Any help greatly appreciated

Like hens teeth, are there any makers name on the unit, ??? there are only a few syhpon manufactures in the UK, unless somethings broke off can't you take it out and service it, do them all at the same time, the stand pipe is only a metering device like you say

Hi guys

Thanks for the rapid response

I believe this to be a thomas dudley syphon that is made for a company and not generic. I think i have figured out a solution. Using the Thomas Dudley round syphon, drill out the top spigot with a 7mm drill bit and take the mechanism off and fit it to the new syphon. Thomas dudley said the after market one required is £220+vat but im getting it sorted for £11inc..... fingers crossed!

You don't say what is wrong with the existing, I would take it out like I said and look at it , this is no more smarter than a wheel, hell there is nothing to it, I would not go in with the saw and hammer and glue, you might find the solvent won't work on the plastic, they were hot welded together not glued. New diaphragm and a clean might fix it, and few pints too boot. You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink, or can I. I have tried my best is over to you now.

Can't find anything at the moment, for the life of me can not think who made, them thought it might have been Derwent Macdee or as you say may be a Dudley. I can tell you how they work, I am with happyflyer whats wrong with the old one ??
