Hi all
I’m posting a new thread to my first a couple of weeks ago. I’m at my wits end trying to sort a leaking high level cistern that is leaking from the base where the flush pipe connects. I have already replaced the syphon flush with a new one (Dudley) . The issue is the diameter hole size of the ceramic cistern is a lot wider than the flush pipe coming into it ( 32 mm vs 48 mm approx ) After I had replaced the syphon flush , it still leaks from the base. I then tried a 2’’ to 1 1/2’’ adapter seal but that didn’t fit either , the inner ring chamfered bit was too big for the cistern hole. Is there another smaller adapter seal that exists ? The problem is there is no manufacturer name on the cistern, it’s quite old. So to recap it still leaked with the original and new syphon flush and I can’t seem to find an adapter seal to fit to make up the gap between the thread of the syphon and inside edge of the cistern outlet hole. Do I need a specific size of syphon thread diameter, new flush pipe or complete cistern swap? It seems crazy to change the whole cistern again for a small leak. Any advice would be useful here Thanks

You have been to your local specialist plumbers merchant - with a good description and a picture on you phone of the issue? If not try and go when they're not too busy, they'll get you sorted. Big box stores - forget it.
