Immersion heater is working but no hot water coming through taps

Please can someone help. Plumber came to property and said that the immersion heater is working. We do not have any hot water coming through the taps. He said that he is unable to locate a thermostatic mixing valve in the property which needs to be repaired. Where is this located?

Yes the cylinder is hot when switched on

Standard cylinder , you may have a TMV somewhere but you may have a shower or mixer tap ( passing ) can you try another plumber?

Plumber could not locate TMV. He thinks it maybe in the floor. Is this normal?

Could be anywhere , IF there is one , as I say it could be one of the other things I mentioned.

Isolate mains cold water and then see if you have hot come through.

My guess would be a mixer shower somewhere. What showers do you have? Also what taps?

We have an electric shower. Standard taps not mixer.

Have you had a new bathroom installed recently? I would pop bath panels off and have a check in there for a tmv

No. Bathroom installed at least 6-7 years ago. Plumber looked for a tmv but couldn't locate one.

does your have any flow of water if not is your float valve stuck in the supply tank with no water in the tank no flow of hot. alternatively if you have only cold water coming out of the hot tap then you have a problem with either a mixer tap passing or a tmv faulty (i have my doubts about this one as it would have probably needed checking a few times over the year)

Have you isolated the mains cold water and then tried the hot water?

I only have cold water

Out of both taps ( hot and cold)

Then it's is down to either a faulty mixer tap passing or a TMV gone faulty

Ok, is it cold water coming out of hot tap, or is it no hot water flow
if the later the top nut might be rocked up. centralheatking

Is that bottom immersion heater wired up? from the picture it does not appear to be.
Is the water from your hot tap the same temperature as the cold tap water, or is it a tad warmer but not hot, just tepid?
