I have thought that the washer may be responsible for a slight leak around the inlet valve of a toilet cistern.
I have a photo but cant seem to attach it. It is inside diameter 1 inch and outside 1 3/4 inch.
Its almost a simple profile but has a shoulder if you like

I see some more complicated ones online for sale around 2.90 pounds but they look like they are a bit more complicated like some kind of diaphragm. Will these work instead ?

Thanks for advice.

Thanks for that ! I didn't quite find the thing I need unless I just dont know what I need. At the moment I think I need an exact copy of what I have. But a toilet is far from rocket science and I saw today in my local DIY store a washer without a shoulder that was otherwise the exact same size. And as logical guy I can't see why that won't work. If I don't hear back a 'don't do that' here I will try it. And hope that I don't have to go through the draining process again !
