I avoid going to tescos at all costs, much the same except its heating and plumbing reps etc! Only good thing is freebies but 1 tectite coupling isnt much use, so you have to grab the lot when their backs turned!!!!!!🙂

Went to installer live a few years ago, when I was fist self employed. It was good to see new products etc. Probably wouldnt go again anytime soon

It all depends whether you want to keep up with new products etc. or stick with what you are familiar with and be left behind. There's lot's of talk about struggling for work, losing out jobs because someone else has gone in cheaper etc. One way of keeping ahead of the competition is to keep abreast of modern innovations. A day at this sort of thing can pay dividends because you may not be the cheapest quote but you were the one who knew what he was talking about. When your customers mentions this new innovation they've read about on Ukcustomersforums etc. you can discuss it with them because you've seen it in the flesh.

You will also see a lot of installers treating the trip as a free jolly and staggering round half cut until the free coach comes to take them home. Great, if that's how they want to waste the day. I could get drunk at home if I wanted to but I take a day out of work to learn something and keep a step ahead of the competition.
