Paramedics are just first aiders and drivers ! You might get one technician onboard like

My father in law was a paramedic for 30 years there a hell of a lot more than that very highly skilled and re do exams every 3 years witch takes weeks of study
What do you call a technician
Ambulance over here has a driver and a paramedic
Older paramedics are highly skilled with gunshot wounds and massive trauma blunt and penetration from shrapnel

Well here there not really trained to much ! Thats why when they move patients from hospital to hospital or planned moves they have to take a nurse with them ! Dont get me wrong i respect anyone that does it ! And im sure their is training in it ! But i posted a story of a lad nearly bleeding to death a few weeks ago he was seen by an ambulance then let go ! Made it round the corner and was nearly on his arse ! He was close to dying !

Does he do that overtime voluntarily or is it forced on him?

He's their go to man when there's overtime. It's rare he turns them down, but then he's divorced and says if he's earning he's not spending 🙂
