Hi guys,

landlord need new boiler but cheap as chips!! Nothing new there then.

i wanted to put an ideal logic in cos I really like them but apparently, they are to expensive.

Can anyone recommend a 24kw combi with horizontal flue. No timer for less than £700. I know raven heats are cheap but I know they are total crap too

bloody landlords hey!!

main eco25 with standard flue and mechanical timer and loop should be coming in aroud £600ish all in inc VAT and baxi would be less than £700

I fit the glowworm betacoms when fitting a combi on a budget.

What could possibly go wrong with one of these beauties.

ps don't do it!

At £450, I am tempted. I don't know anything about these boilers as I only ever fit baxi's, logics and Worcester's

are they really bad? The price of the boiler maybe going down but my labour and material charges aren't. I've examined to her that if yer but cheap, yer but twice but she said she just doesn't have the funds for a logic

to be honest in this situation i would walk away anyone interested in the cheapest boiler possible will blame you the minute it goes wrong "oh well it was recomended by you" had it before and dont need it. out of all the above and if i had to do the job because i was about to loose everything i'd go for the main. but surely the 5 year on the logic is a winner for the landlord no hassel or anything for 5 years!! i bet he calls you up ive found a ferolli on ebay for £350 it coming tomorrow when can you fit it?

In your position I would probably ask customer to source the boiler herself, then it wasn't your choice and she can think she got a bargin (untill it breaks down constantly and becomes a liability)

Recommend what you normally would if they want something cheaper then let them make the choice. Dont recommend a boiler you dont trust. Also tell them if they go cheap now they will pay in the long run. A PCB on a heatline is £250+

I still have problems now from a family member who said what boiler can you fit for me. I said worcester or vaillant he said no both of those are too expensive so as I got a good deal on an isar I said I'll fit that no end of problems with it and its always my fault as I recommended it. Doesnt matter how many times I tell him I recommended a worcester or vaillant it will always be my fault.

imported by vaillant and just like vaillant spares have a 200% mark up

i would go for the raven heat cheap as chips is what the customer wants and they actually arent that bad all brass water ways and good hot water think the smallest is a 28kw so may need gas upgrade

A lot of boiler makes are in the vaillant group but their not vaillants. Keep the crap under a different name is common place in all manufacturing.

Realistically if you fit a ravenheat properly, you won't get any bother for 5/6 years, then you'll be replacing thermistors, diverters etc. if you have a stax account they're £379 +vat this month with flue, clock and 3 year warranty.

You should be able to get a logic+ 24 for less than £700 including, or try the ideal independent/ordinary logic.

vision has 5 year with flue 646 5 year warrenty
idea mini 2 year with flue is 574.80 2 year warrenty

and if you want cheap cheap cheap ferroli boiler 26 combi with flue and time £479 all in

thats what i took out of plumb centre book thats including vat. only boilers i have been fitting in the last year is the vison worcester ideal logic

Definatley fit a Main 24 Eco flue and clock at £600 for that budget there a beltin boiler for the price, there's also Potterton Heatmax 24kw flue & clock at £650

chaffonteax
forgot about them, did you know they are entirely made from recycled washing machine parts and its recommeneded only except cash and after installing one to tell the customer your wrong telephone number and run for it!

how about a lamborghini (a ferroli with a different badge) theyre selling those cheap as chips at the moment, ferrolis are however a bit s###

Ferroli's are also known as scrap, i fitted one and as soon as i filled it up it leaked from 3 manufacturer fittings!! Never again!

fitted a few biasi boilers at customers request and so far they have been ok same heat exch as most boilers and grunfoss pump
