Hi all

hoping for some helpful advice, came across a shared flue system when attended to do a cp12, Ferroli domicompact with flue concealed in voids with no access, after speaking with management company discovered it is also connects to a shared flue system, neither the individual flue from the boiler or the shared flue is inspectable. So looking some feedback regarding inspection and re-routing of flue.

is it a requirement to inspect the shared flue duct completely (from ground floor to final termination) or only the flue from connection to boiler to connection to shared flue?

If rerouting the flue and terminating out the gable wall what is the safest and best was of disconnecting the existing flue from the shared flue and is there anything on the market which could be used to close of the connection to the shared flue?

Shared flue is not suitable for a condensing flue is it? Know some valliants can do se/su and a wb ?

Don't think you can inspect shared flue that's the building managements job . You just check yours and to the wall for pillage? Capping off is a but if a bum twitcher!

There a section in mi that says it can be if designed by professional etc etc,

management company not being very helpful, apparently this is the first time this has been brought to there attention which is hard to believe.

The installers details not avail ? Call them and ask for mi design approval? Or if your feeling lucky call untechnical help?

You need to be sure if it's a shared flue, a SE duct or a U duct?

Then see if that boiler maker allows it to be fitted to such.

Is it a block of flats?

What is the shared flue made of?

At the very least the primary boiler flue needs to be accessible for inspection.

If it's going into a concrete SE or U duct it may be fine if ferrolli allow it.

A block of 22 floor high rise flats in my area with myson apollo's in a SE duct system. The building management company is responsible for inspection of and maintaining the duct.
I note on paperwork flue run not accessible for inspection due to flue design.
