shower pump always on

Hi - I am looking for help regarding new shower pump.

-its new
-it always stays on when the power is on. It should only switch on when water goes to the shower
-its noisy

Can anyone advise please?

Yes should only run when the shower is on you have a leak if it’s running constantly

Is it a positive or negative head pump?

The pump is on the floor. It takes cold and hot water feeds from tanks higher up.

If it is a positive pressure pump then flow switch stuck is a cause.
