Hi All,

Just started with a firm sub contracting. I am leasing a van and working on price. I get parking materials paid. As is first time sub contracting I didnt want to sound like a numpty so didnt really ask all the questions but what else should i not be paying for?

Im about to buy a whole load of gas forms and labels from corgi direct but should they be paying for this stuff?

I got my own powerflush machine which Ive used on jobs but get no extra for it so should I just sell it and use theirs or should I be gettging some more for it?

And my Anton sprint calibration...Should they pay for it?

Head guy says hes going to put me on their gas safe..does that mean I dont pay for renewel anymore?

Arrrrgghhhh!

I sort of understand that Im responsible for tools and have assumed that I put any consumables - gas, solder, compound etc on their account but is there anything else I should be gatting them to pay for.

There a good company but sometime not to clear about a prices for jobs especially extras. Is it the done thing just to put faith in them or shiould I always demand a price for every new job/extras straight away.

Im rambling i know..this game is so damned hard I tell ya!

Thanks
Mo

Renewals are your responsibility. All consumables are there's, including hack saw blades and your forms. Don't sell your flusher just tell them your going to, why wear your own stuff out.

Thanks mate..that will save me a bit as was about to order online. Funny had bought some hack saw blades today and wasnt going to charge them for it. So would that include drill bits too?

all tools are yours to sort out, consumables are for them to sort out like drill bits, blades, screws, plugs, clips, pipe fittings, certs, labels, leak detetect, smoke bombs and matches etc....... As regards the powerflush machine i would either not use it or agree a price for its use, why let the hire shop have the £50 if they can give it you?

Gas safe register is your own, keep it going. Dont see how you can be put onto there number? your not an employee of theres. On the gas certs they need to supply you with one that you can put there company details on and also yours as the subcontractor.
