So what would you be charging then? I was kind of after an idea of going rates to be honest.

Well:
One today was Chaff combi out and Vaillant ecotec pro 28 in Vert straight flue, condense run about 2 metres, re run of about 4 metres of gas pipe, plus wireless stat, and magnaclean, plus chemicals. £2650 inc vat.. Customer gave me the ok within two minutes of receiving email quote.

Impossible to answer how much you should be charging without seeing the company accounts etc. Once you have them and know what overheads and staff wages etc you need to cover, only then can you work out what you should be charging. Why are the current owmers leaving or selling up? What has the profit been for the previous 3 years?

At those prices non existent.

I can't speak for everyone but as an idea of what I'd be looking for..

combi to combi .. £1500-£1800 but I never fit tat.
standard to standard .. £1400-£1600
standard to combi .. £2250-£2600

all these depend on gas pipework, flue options, condense runs etc. and they're a rough guide.

Thanks, that was the kind of info I was after. I know it varies from region to region but everyone must have a rough idea of what they charge.

What I could be charging is different do what I should be charging. I interested to know what I could be charging.

You can charge as much as you like ! getting the customer to accept it is something else, what would you be including in your price ? if you don't deal with gas now, you are going in at the deep end, do you have to invest any money into this company ??

Why am I going in at the deep end? I have a good knowledge of the industry, I just don't have a background of pricing for boiler installations.

Do some sneaky home work. Get your mrs to ring round for prices, just make sure she doesn't sound like she knows what she talking about.

Because dealing with boiler installation's is not that clear cut lots of variable's to take in, you haven't stated what you will be doing are you going to be surveying and pricing these jobs ? and if you have little knowledge of this side of the industry how do you expect t make it pay ??

What I'm going to be doing isn't the topic of the thread, I'm just interested in prices. I don't want to go of subject and debate by ability to run a business. 🙂

I like your honesty AA.......... I don't do much in the way of installs these days but tend to look for around £3-400 in the pocket for a straight swap 1 days work!! Therefore I tend to price the gear and add 4-500 quid to cover what I want to pocket plus a buffer 🙂
