I have a insurance job to try and rescue a poorly installed quad shower the customer wants to save the tiling if possible and has a few spare so fingers crossed it may work , the loss adjuster allowed em £1500 that will just about cover materials. Kop

Knocked the rubber seal skew when pushed together?

yep also if you look at the flush pipe it’s not totally round and hadn’t been cut very well and leaked ever since install only just noticed due to carpet getting wet about 10 feet away

Very interesting had a similar job 2-3 weeks ago, insurance job and I was stripping out for a builder and I found the flush pipe had been leaking at the cistern connection for a lonngg time! Would hard water perish the rubber seal??

Easily done, however a professional plumber would check & check again if he was a professional plumber!

When I refitted the one mentioned above I flushed the wc at least 10x to check no leaks!

That's the thing with water it tracks and may not appear near to where it's actually leaking from - as you guy's in the Plumbers Arms know DO IT RIGHT FIRST TIME>>>>

no combination of bad cut on the flush pipe and going in dry 😀 were the issues now the problem to try and find spares as it’s 10 plus years old it’s an abcaus so I’m hoping

OK the one I had was Geberit, ordered the seal from PTS/City Plumbing for £2.15..

Fitted this rad during the week - must've weighed at least 50 kgs. SIP walls with roofing batten and plasterboard so had to polyurethane glue timber between plasterboard and SIP to get a decent fixing.

Got one like this to fit in a house where I have already fitted 2 verticals and a horizontal in an extension. I like them but they are heavy and I’m a big lad.

Maybe "cast iron" is in vogue 🤔 - big lad are you! Challenge you to an arm wrestle!?

Little smidge of clear silicone under the nylon seats helps keep them in place.

Thanks Simon, obviously would need to do this a couple of hours before the "lift".

I'll try polyurethane glue next time, sets in 15mins.

Looks good, only concern I would have is too many taps which will squish them in. No 2m spacing.

my thoughts exactly but there going to be in bubbles so there not bothering about spacing as if one gets it the whole class is going to get it my thoughts
