macerator

Maceration is the process of preparing foods through the softening or breaking into pieces using a liquid.
Raw, dried or preserved fruit or vegetables are soaked in a liquid to soften the food, or absorb the flavor of the liquid into the food.In the case of fresh fruit, particularly soft fruit such as strawberries and raspberries, the fruit is often simply sprinkled with sugar (and sometimes a small amount of salt) and left to sit and release its own juices. This process makes the food more flavorful and easier to chew and digest.
Maceration is often confused with marination, which is the process of soaking foods in a seasoned, often acidic, liquid before cooking.
Some herbal preparations call for maceration, as it is one way to extract delicate or highly volatile herbal essences without applying heat.Sometimes a cooking oil is used as the liquid for maceration – especially olive or some other vegetable oil.
Maceration is the chief means of producing a flavored alcoholic beverage, such as cordials and liqueurs.Maceration of byproducts from food processing plants and other organic byproducts such as cooking oil, stubble, wood chips or manure can involve the use of a chopper pump to create a slurry which can be used to create compost or co-digestion feedstock in biogas plants (or both).

    Small bathroom plumbing with macerator

I have a small bathroom which originally had a sink, shower and toilet running through a macerator. Because it was so noisy i asked the plumber to remove the sink and shower. He did this by teeing in shower and sink pipes to the outgoing macerator waste pipe underfloor before it entered the soil...

    Macerator as only WC

A charity I have worked for in the past is having to reduce the size of its offices and lease out the remainder. It will remain the landlord of the building so has some say over what can and can't be done elsewhere on the premises. They wish to install a single disabled WC for use by their few...

hi guys. As the title suggests, I have a customer wanting a toilet and basin fitted under her stairs which is located in the centre of the terraced house. Second opinions desired before I throw even more money (literally) down the drain...?

Since our building work 3 years ago we've had to call out plumbers at least five times to clear the pipework running from the sink to the drain (level run on the ground floor). Over time the pipes, which are 1.5 inches wide, repeatedly clog up and water ends up backing up into the sink and...

Hi guys, Still not got round to doing this yet but I have a question. My drains all end up in one sewer. Drain pipe from front of house joins the main sewer at back with all other soil waste. As they go to the same place could I tap a macerator waste into the drain pipe at front? I know it's...

hi @rpm, I just had a customer who had a macerator/ saniflo and it was connected to toilet and wash basin. However, the problem was it didn't drain unless you lifted the pipework. The pipework had a slope and whenever you lifted the pipework it started to pump. I did not quite understand the...

Hi, I've moved into a house that has a badly installed macerator toilet. After coming out of the Saniflo, the pump runs vertically upwards for a metre or so, then horizontally for 6 or 7 metres - all fine so far - but then under the kitchen sink it goes vertically upwards again for...

    Does anyone use macerator toilets?
