A fitting or adapter is used in pipe systems to connect straight sections of pipe or tube, adapt to different sizes or shapes, and for other purposes such as regulating (or measuring) fluid flow. These fittings are used in plumbing to manipulate the conveyance of water, gas, or liquid waste in domestic or commercial environments, within a system of pipes or tubes.
Fittings (especially uncommon types) require money, time, materials, and tools to install, and are an important part of piping and plumbing systems. Valves are technically fittings, but are usually discussed separately.

Can I use JGSpeedfit 22 to 15 reducer as shown on the photo, and is it safe enough?

Overheard a conversation today about a limescale filter that you change a cartridge with a yearly boiler service?
Got interrupted before I got a chance to ask what it was.
Just done a quick search but only found a "Combimate"
Any ideas?
Hi all - first post here so please be gentle.
A rubber gasket/reducer has broken free from my soil stack, above the roof line and before the vent/terminal.
It looks like a reducer/gasket to keep the joint between the larger outer pipe and the smaller diameter inner pipe water tight.
Does...
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and need some advice. I am not a plumber by any stretch of the imagination, but I try my best at DIY.
I have purchased a cloakroom sink from ebay, which was the only reasonably priced one I could find to suite and fit my cloakroom toilet. The issue is all of the...

I have my presure reducer valve in my kitchen set to 3.5 bar and from that I am geting a flow rate of around 12l per min. I have read on the internet that I should be getting a far higher flow rate from 3.5 bar of presure.
Can you let me know what you think? Do you think the presure...
Can any one recommend one? A client of mine has 2 andrews water heaters that had got badly scaled up, they were cleaned out during a service but now they are looking for something that may help prevent it. Would a salt based water softener work? Not sure if there is anything better around...
Im quoting for a new boiler but noticed the tank outlet is about 4 metres above the pump. I cant find in my books anything to prescribe when to use a pressure reducer. Anyone have any guidance? Doesnt appear to be in the MI.

I need to replace a failed TRV on a radiator that has 8mm microbore copper piping. The radiator/TRV/piping are all original and have been in place for approx 30 years.
I know that I’ll need a 15mm-8mm reducer as all modern TRV’s have 15mm connectors (is that right?).
However I’m unsure...
Hi guys,
What do you use to reduce the 3/4 to a 1/2 thread on a main pressure gauge? So it can be fitted to the top of compressions if no 3/4 is not available?
Like this one?
Cheers
