First of all no replies necessary just having a moan....

How many times have you heard this..

All I want is..... for a radiator to be move three feet,

So, you have a look, yeah! 3 feet from one wall to the next,

The job entails, a new rad, type 22, 500 x 600, trv, length of copper, inhibitor.

The system old baxi boiler gravity fed h/w. four floor boards need to come up + drilling through joists........ Thats what I can see at the moment. Give him the quote, needs it done urgently (don't they all) give him the price.

The chap is very handy so I explained if he wanted to take up the boards himself then the cost would be cheaper..... no no I don't want anything to do with it...........

Cost of Parts (which vary) + 10%.

Labour £120

He'll let me know, I wanted to explain to him that if he'd prefer I'd do it for free.

Although work is a bit scarce at the moment Why do people want you to work for free. I'd rather live on Lidl beans and mouldy toast than do a job like this for £80.... mind you even then he'd complain.......

Thanks all,

Moan over.

Nice moan, can't beat a good moan. Does make you feel better, not quite as good as telling the cust to do one, but very close.

What with all the people phoning for jobs to be done yesterday and you to pay them for the privilege.

I had a good hal hour yesterday morning. Oil combi, dodgy danfoss hsa3 valve head, replaced it 3 months ago and pressure vessel was knackered, cust wouldn't pay to have vessel changed. Head went again about 6 weeks after I changed it. Bloke phoned mr after 9 on a sunday night, I said tough should have had the vessel changed as well. Bit of an argument, upshot I agreed to replace, swap it under warranty. Anyway strung him along for six weeks as he wasn't there when I went to replace it that first week. Anyway I turn up, few words spoken but all the casing is in bits, flow switch had leaked and a 'friend' of his had sorted it. Passes me a jar with all the screws for the casings. Change head switch on and test, spot on. Walks out, as I leave I give him back the jar with the screws in and laughs explaining that its not my problem and if he ever phones me again I would take great pleasure in seperating him from his gonads.

Can't beat it.
