Called out to a land lord safety today old worcester 25 si combi,first thing I noticed someone had drilled a hole in the front of the flue through the first layer,never come across that before!checking the rest of the flue in the loft found that someone had disconnected a length between two 45s and reconnected with just the iner pipe leaving outer pipe on the floor,I reconnected flue in loft went down and found the boiler would not lite,It looks like some idiot has done this as a repair! Landlord said boiler was repaired and certed last year by same engineer,iv caped it off much to the annoyance of tenant and landlord.anyone worked on this boiler before are they prone to aps or fan faults?

Probably flue too long! Or seals broken and it's staved.

It's called c&f when on phone inform of custards . Cap off and F off

Reminds me of an F28 fault code on a boiler. Cust asked one the lads what it meant, he replied:
"The 'F' means it's F***ed and the 28 means it's going to take 28 visits to fix the fault."
