Has anyone ever owned a Ex royal mail van? I know they're far from the best looked after vans.................

Going to look at one over the weekend, guy who's selling it bought it from Royal Mail and now selling it at 82K Miles. Reason for sale, he says it's now too small for his needs.
advertised for £1250 ono.

Anything to look out for?

Regards

M

got a combo they do have a lot of electrical issues ,

i would expect its been through its service history so any mechanical bits will be well maintained,

combos also need a good motorway blow out every few months as well as they tend to build up loads of carbon on the city shuttle route

worked for rm for a couple of years.

all vans had log books and it was mandatory to log all faults. when you were bored it was a drive to the garage to get them fixed. more serious then they were booked in. the vans were well maintained but thrashed by many!
cant be a bad buy if cheap enough!!

Cheers guys. All I can do is go have a look. I'll report back tomorrow lol

Take no notice of the miles, every one of them will have been hard. Stop start low milers are worse then motorway high milers.

had a ex RM sherpa,it was well maintained, ran it for a few years

remember pulling up to an office block reception window in one of those po sherpas. the receptionist said is that your van outside
'on fire!!!!!' the starter had jammed at the last stop 8 miles away and decided to go up melting the office window frames.lol
