To all the guys that fit gas fires, a customer has asked me to fit a hole in the wall gas fire, Normally i don't do gas fires but this women used to childmind me when i was akid lol, i have my ticket for them just never fitted the hole on the wall ones.
The builder removed the old brick hearth and fire surround (i removed the old gasfire for her) he has built up the wall for the hole in the wall fire and has been reskimmed, she also had a new liner put down the chimney which is sealed correctly at the top wich i have been on the roof and checked but has left at the bottom open ended.
My question is how do you seal round the flue eg a fire stop as the fire (paragon) does not have a flue box just a flap which is the same size as the fire which you bend over. the builder has put superlux round the flue but there is still gaps round the chimney, how to i fill the gaps there are pretty big as i can get my hand up there which means the flumes would go past the flue line and build in the chimney which could allow the P.O.C to enter the room again
I have pictures on my phone if needed
thanks guys hope someone can help me out.
