hi guys,
just want to get an idea on what you guys charge for minor little jobs.
I try and do a few jobs here and there whilst training for my gas and working full time and dont know what to charge people for jobs like replacing toilet syphons,
changing tap washers,
changing kitchen or bathroom taps,
resealing baths or showers
minor little jobs that dont take to long, be interesting to know what you guys charge.
im in Birmingham
cheers guys.

Most of the jobs you mention are 40 quid plus parts.
Bath taps you can lose out even charging 60 if the existing are old and stubborn to remove

work out what it costs you to get into the van to go do a job insurance stock van ect ect then add your time and see if your happy with that when starting out you will find you will loose money on some jobs and loose some jobs over been (apparently) too expensive but after a good 6 month you should be able to be confident in your pricing

If you really want to do some homework, call some of the local plumbers and ask them their fees for doing some of the jobs you are doing.
You don't have to ask to much but ask for what they would charge to change a tap washer...or what ever else.
If you think you can do work cheaper than them..well good.
But don't do the work for half the price they do it for because you will end up losing money...or friends.
Most of the people you will be competing with will have been in business for probably longer than you and they know their charge out rates to break even - make a profit.
You are in a far better business mentality to walk away from a job you will lose money on than to take it.
So don't cut the lunch on your competitors, because you will only be cutting the lunch on yourself!!!
