loctite 55 as thread sealant

Hello to all engineers,what is your opinion with regard to using loctite 55 as thread sealant?

I have still not used this product,and I am curious about its ability to seal the components - parts.
Usually I prefer loxeal 55-14 with no worries at all.

Do you use it in place of ptfe tape?

If you watch online videos,the company suggests that loctite 55 should be used alone without any additional substance.
That is my worry,can this product offer a viable and permanent solution ?

Didn't mean whether it was used with ptfe, was wandering what context it would be used in.

Use it alot in place of ptfe good for cylinder fittings rad tails still get ptfe though . Kop

Really like the couple of different types of loctite I've used for various things on the bike and and on the Bedford, looks like found new use for it then!

Use it and the tape for different applications, used the liquid 577 then known simply as threadlock on metal threads but the joints must be clean and oil free for it to cure.

I have found it to be more reliable than PTFE on radiator tails especially and also more reliable on fittings in the sizes above 3/4". I'm not sure why it works better but it does in my experience!

55 does allow for some adjustment when PTFE leaks.
