It's scary I know tamz but I can hand on heart say that if you pass the 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing exam you will know your stuff. If you are doing a course with that qualification it definitely isn't an attendance course, the failure rate is normally about 75%.
The approved body is a scam of course though and the course providers are creaming it in but I wouldn't call myself an electrical cowboy (I know you aren't implying that btw). It's been a sound business investment for me and I get more work doing electrical work than plumbing just now, go figure!
