Hi guys,

went to fit a bathroom today and the customer had bought a suite from b and q over 12 months ago. Only just realised that there is no internals for the toilet cistern

anyway, i could just put in a standard syphon and inlet valve but there is no overflow pipe installed in the house (new build) as as the regs state they should be internal overflows now, I would rather do it this way

so what im asking is, is there a syphon that will work with a normal flush handle but also has an internal overflow?
if so, can you tell me what its called please. fairly new to all this

Just fit a country pattern syphon, and if hole for an overflow just put overflow plug in.

Or if your fitting a normal syphon make sure its top is an inch at least, below any holes in the cistern, i.e. a short one.

alternativley (spelling lol) you could fit a flapper type flush valve like this 49303.jpgwhich has an internal overflow. item 49303 from toolstation.

£16 from plumbfix - fluidmaster dual flush syphon and bottom entry filling valve twin pack. Can't go wrong, integral adjustable overflow and the flush button can convert to go in the old lever hole.
Fitted one today.
I even told the customer that I was doing myself a dis-service by fitting it as they never go wrong (nicked that one off here!!)

Most good siphons now are internal flush, myself i choose dudley turbos well the best or go for fluidmaster internal push btn!

i found the handle tends to move around if flushed too hard, its easily put back into position but if cust dont know what to do, then it constantly runs through the flap. overall i like the simplicity but needs that problem sorted
