.....is 120 ok for cleaning copper pipe? I'd like to try it instead of steel wool and any recomendations would be helpful.
Welcome to the forum. Although you can post in any forum, the USA forum is here in case of local regs or laws
As an apprentice I was told not to use emery paper on copper, can't remember why though.
I would use the cleaning strips designed for the job
I read in an ancient plumbing book that emery shouldn't be used if you are going to solder as whatever is in it will react with solder. I think using emery & then steel wool is fine. I will have to get in the habit of using abrasive strips. I use emery cloth (not sure grade) on old tarnished pipe or solder fittings & steel wool last. I steel wool new pipe, but only use the milder grease based flux.
Jeez I didn't tink I was that old 😉
been buying from said station for a while, never noticed these rolls. will get a roll next time, thanks for the suggestion.if you like to use the cleaning strips then you can buy a 5mx100mm roll of the same stuff from a station that sells tools.
how do you go about getting an account with them????????AW, can u post a link or pm me with it? Cheers for the advice, I've got a account with them.
