I have a insurance job to try and rescue a poorly installed quad shower the customer wants to save the tiling if possible and has a few spare so fingers crossed it may work , the loss adjuster allowed em £1500 that will just about cover materials. Kop

Lets not talk about how long bathrooms take please mate. I came home happy today.
I know. I've got about 3 biggish ones to do before Christmas and i've already got others i've priced saying they'll have them done - they'll have to wait till next Feb now at this rate 😭

Was the pump hiding ?

Pump, wiring centre, 3 port all in dining room ceiling in a box as its exposed joists.
Upgrading cylinder to unvented and sealing the heating system. Moving to s plan with everything in the airing cupboard. Also getting rid of the surface mounted rad pipes and hot and cold to bathroom going under the floor.

Have to return in a few weeks when plastered and decorated to fit all new rads.

You been doing floor tiling, or am I missing something?

For certain customers yes. This was sort of a job that grew.
Started off moving the cloakroom ready for an extension next year. So tile cloakroom floor, wc and basin etc. Then it was we have these tiles for the hall but I dont want my husband to do them. So I cracked on.

Wouldn't generally just do a Tiling only job.

Whats the cost and hours involved Shaun ??

It too me around 10 hours for part 1 and and about 9 hrs for the second I think but I need to go back through it again especially the first part as I found this the hardest

Im working on tidying this today. My customer tested positive yesterday so putting the time to good use.

That looks pretty tidy to me. I need a dry day with no interruptions to sort mine. Long days and just throwing stuff into it is no good.

What made you buy shares in Stanley? 😂
The big ones I got about 15 years ago from a well known diy store with only 2 letters from the alphabet in its name. They were on offer. I think they were £12.00 for 3, so got 3 sets. The smaller ones I have I got for an absolute Steal. Got about 32 of them for £10.00 (and they are brilliant. They interlock with each other with side clips)

Viessmann 100 w wi fi enabled going in taking alot to sort the system out in the loft bonus is lots of copper came out 💰💰. Kop

No more bathrooms for me this side of chrimbo😆 I'm concentrating on smaller projects involved in two new kitchen refit jobs and doing my own one as well, a cloakroom remodel which has been a pita floor had to come up to gain access to the services heating pipe needed tidying up and first fixing ready for new designer style rad and towel rail , stopcock needed moving from the corner all services needed altering and first fixing, then studding out the wall to hide everything plasterer coming Monday so a late one for me tonight as working at home tomorrow, had to dig out the external stopcock chamber got it shut off did the alterations then couldn't get it back on ☹️Essex and Suffolk water had to come out they were first class the inspector snapped the Handle off the stopcock trying to get it turned on but had a tool to get over it replacement can now be booked for a later date. Yes you're probably right. A stainless one was considered, but at over double the price it seemed a lot extra. Considering that if there was excessive water down that end it'd be coming out the tray and into the room I was hoping it'd be OK, thrown in the fact good extraction, and it's a Zehnder not some cheap s***, fingers crossed

My personal preference would be next to basin, but as you say. What customer wants, customer gets. Especially with this customer too.

Got my tiling done today , plasterer came Friday so together we repaired the coving, bonded out the ceiling and wall to build out before skimming the whole area drying out nicely so all in all its coming together slowly, decorating hopefully middle of the week then the units need swapping over.
