Hi,

I have just registered so I am sorry if I am going over old ground for you. I am going to get a new boiler and I am swaying between the Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i and an Ideal Logic Plus. The Ideal Logic Plus is cheaper and comes with a 5 year warranty compared to the 2 years on the Worcester, however their previous boilers have a terrible reputation. I don't mind paying extra for the Greenstar, though, if it is the better boiler. I am looking for the boiler that will last the longest and be the most reliable.

In your expert opinions, which one should I go for? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers! :smile5:

The Worcester comes with 5 years guarantee! They all do until end of July I think!

Worcester Bosch all the way!

Logic is far better than your other option. I have always been partial to the logic whilst many others were not, but it does seem that in a short time 4-5 years that Ideal have got rid of the Isar brush taring terrible boiler brush that they had as the Logic in its various options is in fact a decent boiler

Hi Jeff - welcome - its a good place to ask these sort of questions, the experts on here
will all have their own opinions based upon their individual experience.

So - I dont rate Worcester Bosch - my friends in low places at British Gas tell me horror
stories about how long these things do not last. I know nothing about Ideal - dont
fit them. However if your thinking about the higher end price wise ......Vaillant all day long
is my choice. Mind you some of the sages on here have mentioned INTa - and we are
going to put a few in soon just to see........my outfit look after 300+ properties
for a local not 4 profit organisation amongst out other activities so will report back
- we are not replacing any worcesters like for like for this customer

the only thing i find poor on the ideal is the plastic flue parts/ clamp. The boilers themselves seem to work very well and have been getting a good rep.

worcesters are nice boilers imo, i have fitted plenty over the last few years without any problems at all and there customer service is top notch. They will even fix a boiler fault under warrantee which is down to sludge in the system once without complaint.

us installers can be very opinionated about these things as one bad experience and we tend to advise others to avoid at all costs. You have to take things in prespective really.

by the way avoid baxi GA boilers, they are pants.......... infact pants with skid marks in them. 🙂

intergas all the way wouldnt put the other 2 on the wall if you paid me, infact I dont even if they ask, a mate does and he gets the work!

if your buying a worcester then you need to also buy a pcb, prv, expansion vessel, pump and never turn your boiler off as the fan will die .
If you dont buy these items on purchase of said boiler then rent a room in your house to the local worcester gas engineer as they will spend more time in your home repairing this than you will living there

Haha bit harsh, there not that bad

installed hundreds on boiler change contract and defo a bag of nails high end price with low range reliabilty

Surprised by the big anti Worcester feedback!

Iv rarely had any problems, plus worcester are brilliant if there any issues under warranty! 5 or 7 year guarantee! I bet the logic 5 year guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on!

Plus Worcester scored highest above vaillant in which recent reliability scores !
