Unvented under unit heater and the coil is extending the distance to the first stop tap, so no expansion vessel required.

What is that thing on the gas pipe?
emergency solenoid shut off valve (prob linked to stop buttons)
Correct. There's a gas safety panel connected to a low level gas sniffer (it's lpg) which knocks the solenoid of in the event of an emergency, a leak or an internal fault.
did you correct the faults?
Nah. It was a quoted service in a school. Remedials go in a report back to the office for them to issue a quote.
Unless it affects safety or operation in which case it'd be an immediate remedial.
I know its probably a long debated topic, but isn't the plastic potentially popping of and spraying red hot water out a concern for safety?
Mmm. They're down to be replaced with compression or yorkshires owing to the fact they're bloody ugly.
Had a survey at a factory to replace their hot water plant. Site manager mentioned that HWS circ was a bit poor, although the pump was running....

Can't see anything on the gas pipe? Can see 2 zone valves on the heating flow?
It looks like a tectite fitting (copper push fit) a 22mm coupler with a reducer in it.the pipe dangling down from the boiler (stub about 6") and didnt spot the zone valves
and sorry dont know why its posted twice

Don't think it's the gas though. I think the 22mm with the compression or tectite elbows above boiler might be gas but just guessing based on position it finnished below boiler need a shot from below boiler so you can see service valves really.
Found this beauty today
