standing

Standing, also referred to as orthostasis, is a position in which the body is held in an erect ("orthostatic") position and supported only by the feet. Although seemingly static, the body rocks slightly back and forth from the ankle in the sagittal plane. The sagittal plane bisects the body into right and left sides. The sway of quiet standing is often likened to the motion of an inverted pendulum.Standing at attention is a military standing posture, as is stand at ease, but these terms are also used in military-style organisations and in some professions which involve standing, such as modeling. At ease refers to the classic military position of standing with legs slightly apart, not in as formal or regimented a pose as standing at attention. In modeling, model at ease refers to the model standing with one leg straight, with the majority of the weight on it, and the other leg tucked over and slightly around.

    31mb standing pres at meter, 28.5mb working pres at meter, 25.5mb working pres at app

    Came across this today on a boiler service of a worcester greenstar 18i condensing n.g. htg & indirect hw boiler. I know standing press at meter should be max 30mb, inlet working press at boiler should be 18.5mb whereas its 25.5 mb and 28.5mb at meter. So working pressure has to be 21 mb +/-...

    Potterton Gold Combi 33 HE A-Fault NO hot water or heating

    Standing pressure what should it be?

    Hi all, just wondering what the standing pressure at the gas meter should be. Academically says it should be 21mbar but when I am onsite it's varied, 24.5mbars, 25mbars. The engineer I am shadowing said that's fine. I do trust him but just want second opinion. Many thanks in advance. John

    Heating problem on floor standing boiler

    Hi guys, I have a old floor standing Glow worm boiler. and when fired up heating gets upstairs ok from the 28mm pipes on the left hand side, but there are 2 x 22mm drops on the right to feed downstairs rads and is tee'd back into the boiler via a pump.     free standing taps

    Just fitted a "old" cast free standing bath and the tap were free standing coming out of the floor in c/p tubes, so came out the floor in 22 to tap inside c/p tubes but counld not fitt the taps and pipes in tubes so phoned man to ask how told to fitt taps to pipe put in side tubes and conted up...

    from bath store - had a night mare fitting it. basically its a bath on legs that sits inside a surround - the surround, is bolted to floor with clamps... easy eh... the hot and cold is concealed in the surround easy so far - so is the waste.... ok can sort that out.... here comes the stupid...
